They have many years of experience in teaching General English, English for Specific Purposes as well as exam preparation courses in Ireland, the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Barry is originally from Co. Down, Northern Ireland and holds a degree in French and Byzantine Studies from Queen's University, Belfast, as well as a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. He has over 20 years teaching experience and has worked in Japan, France and the US. Barry has been teaching in Ireland for 13 years and held the position of TEFL course director at a previous school. He has extensive experience in exam classes and specialist programmes. In his free time he enjoys cycling and music.
Eoin, originally from Howth in Dublin, is a member of the teaching staff at DCU Language Services. He holds a B.A in History and Classic Civilisation and an M.A in Classical Civilisation. Eoin has many years teaching experience and has successfully combined teaching with his love of travel. To date, he has been lucky enough to teach in Turkey and Belgium.
Originally from Marietta, Georgia (USA), Mary Beth has been living in Dublin since 2002. She holds a B.A. in English, Women’s Studies and Religion and an M.A. in Anglo-Irish literature and Drama. Upon completion of a TEFL qualification she joined DCU Language Services. Alongside teaching, Mary Beth is the director of Irish Dance & Sean-Nós Dublin (www.irishdancedublin.com), has created two popular Irish Dance dvds and is a certified dancing teacher. Mary Beth has taught and danced all over the world in places like Mexico, Russia and Oman. She loves reading, traditional Irish culture, dancing and traveling.
Ken Smith has been working for DCU Language Services since 2001. During that time he has taught general English classes at all levels but is primarily known for his work in examination classes such as IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and the full Cambridge suite of exams. He has also held positions as examiner, supervisor and trainer for Cambridge ESOL Examinations and has presented seminars for Cambridge in DCU.
Alan is a Dublin native and hold a B.A. in English and Sociology from UCD. Alan has taught in DCU Language Services for 11 years and has prior experience teaching in Asia. During his time in DCU he has been involved with many of our courses including General English and Exam Preparation classes. His teaching philosophy is that authentic material and student focused communication tasks are the most effective way of improving ones language ability. Outside of work he loves spending time with his two young children and is a keen musician who can be found playing in various corners of the city.
